Randy has the new ex-Navy Alaska Railroad boxcar decals available and
he was kind enough to ship me an order of them so I could
get
the boxcars
finished. They are cool!
As per Randy Thompson's recommendation, I used the Proto
2000 automobile 50-foot double door boxcar. These are fun to assemble, but make
a
great model to use for the project. I got these cars at a train show for $2.00
each and I stripped the decals off with nail polish remover. I used Scalecoat
II Aluminum Paint, sprayed the cars and applied the decals. I then sprayed a
coat
of
Dull Coat to seal the decals.
