| Well here is a run down on what I did to the model . First I got a repowered Athearn RDC. It was painted aluminum on the shell as well as the undercarriage. I masked off the ends and painted them B&O Royal Blue. I got Blue Chartpak graphic tape 1/8" wide for the stripe on the top sides of the RDC (as per Pat Durand). It looks like it was painted on and it will accept decals easily. I then used a variety of decals. From Microscale I used Alaska RR Diesel #87-480 for the ARR logo, Reading Locomotive Barricade stripes #87-708 for the ends, white numbers for the ends of the blue stripe came from Randy Thompsons 3 bay Rib-sided hopper cars set, the Alaska and the yellow #701 in the middle of the car came from Curt Fortenberry's passenger set decals and the Beacon was from Details West #RB-106. |
