The Jordan Spreader was used for either MOW or snow removal. There was no real prototype for me to go by. Therefore, I used a drawing and a combination of pictures to get an idea of what they might look like. I used a Walthers Jordan Spreader Conrail # 932-53357, decals from Microscale ARR Diesels #87-480 and ARR Frieght# 87-256. I used nail polish remover to take the Conrail lettering off. Next, I assembled the model. I hand painted the deatiling. I used silver for the airtank, pistons on the hydraulics, blade edge on plows and roof. I used royal blue for window frames and hand rails. I then applied gloss coat and decals. Then I weathered the model with Floquil Rust and Scalecoat Oil and Graphite. I wanted it to have that very old look. |
