The picture was taken in Talkeetna. While the slide date is November 1982, this picture looks to be taken in late summer of 1982.

The following information is from The Official Equipment Register of October 1974. The 10515 has an ARR Mechanical Designation of XM in the Equipment Register. According to the Register, an XM boxcar is 'for general service equipped with side or side and end doors'. Many ARR cars have the AAR mechanical designation painted on the right hand side (usually within the handrail). This information has not been applied to this car.

According to the Register, this car is 54' long. The door dimensions are 6'10" wide by 8'5" high. The capacity of the car is 100,000 lbs (or 50 tons). There were 65 cars in this class in October of 1974.

I'm sort of kicking myself (30 years later) for not specifically photographing the pristine McKinley Park boxcar to the left of the 10515.
