Alaska Railroad Loco Crane 112 at Rudd Spur, Gold Creek

While riding the train, Englishman Geoff Brown, took this photo of Locomotive Crane #112 at Rudd Spur. Rudd Spur is named after Curt Rudd, a retired employee of the Alaska Railroad. Curt has an off-grid cabin near this location. Rudd Spur is between Talkeetna and Hurricane, a section of line served by the Hurricane Turn which provides one of the USA’s last flag stop services allowing off-grid residents with a request stop service where no road access exists.
