This easily could be my first photograph of the ARR. I remember thinking that it was fitting that there was snow on the ground when I took the picture. This digitally salvaged image was originally exposed on Ektachrome film. The image seen is a testimony to the effectiveness of photo reclamation thru the use of Picasa and my Epson scanner. The date is December 1975, location Bellingham, Washington. It could be in one of two places in Bellingham, both of which were locations on the Milwaukee Road. What's interesting is that the cars are numbered sequentially (14607 & 14608). I believe that the car to the left of the 14607 was also of this series and also new. We would see new freight cars built at Pacific Car and Foundry in Renton, Washington occasionally come to Bellingham on their first revenue trip, and that may well be the case here. Unfortunately this car is newer than the newest equipment register I have, so I can't provide you with any particulars about this class of cars.
