From Josh Coran, ARR Chief Mechanical Officer [8/15/01]:
"The 102 is a former UP car. It has three axle trucks, AAR cross section
and it is 85' long. This car was used for years on the Whittier Shuttle. It
was in that service when I came on board in 1983. I bought the two SP Econo-Bags
from the SP auction about three years ago. I inspected them in Oakland where
they were stored along with business cars Oregon and Oakland and a nameless
Sunset limited 10-6 sleeper. I numbered them 11x series to indicate they were
different than the three former UP 6300 cars we still have, all now numbered
in the 10x series."
