In this area where many cars and debris has been dumped, the cab from steam locomotive 503 lays. ARR 503 was a 2-8-0 Consolidation built by Lima for the U.S. Army. and eventually owned by the ARR. 503 was destroyed in a roundhouse fire in 1951, and the remains were dumped here. I've been told there was a boiler dumped as well, but I've never found it, that is if it was really dumped along the Matanuska River. 04/24/2014.
