A wooden box car laying atop of some frames on the side of the grade. I believe this is one of the Seattle box cars built new for the construction of the Alaska Railroad, so this car was close to 100 years old when this photo was taken. After searching some photos, if you look at the former freight car section you will find a wooden box car 1239 or 1289. It may be this very car since the photo was taken after it was retired, it makes sense to me that very car may have been dumped here and this is it, or at least an example of an early ARR box car. 04/24/2014.
