One of the more known cars that was dumped is the observation car Yukon, car number 6. Originally built for the Northern Pacific Railroad, the Yukon was rebuilt from a diner into an observation car. Seward has the same floor plan as the Yukon, and probably in better shape. From what I understand there is a second passenger car somewhere along the old grade, the Kenai. I have only been told Kenai was dumped, no images exist to my knowledge but believe me I will be searching for it. 

The date that Yukon was retired is unknown, but my guess it was around 1960 when Seward was retired. Sometime prior to the branch being taken out of service, the line had some work done to it, new ties, ballast, rock riprap, and bridge repairs on Moose Creek. Sometime around then, a large amount of scrap and old cars were dumped in, it's my opinion that's when the Yukon was dumped off the side. Not much is left to salvage, the steps and some other random parts. The interior is completely destroyed. One interesting thing is there is some original blue and yellow paint it still there in places, one could clean up a spot or two and possibly get paint chips to make matched colors for models, albeit in faded colors. 04/24/2014.
