The Alaska Railroad operated river boat service fron Nenana to the Lower
Yukon River.  The first two Sternwheelers, General Jeff Davis (at left) and
General J. W. Jacobs, were acquired as Army surplus in 1922.  In the photo
above, they are dry docked for the winter at Nenana, Alaska. (10-27-1922)
