Train Wreck
1922

This happened on July 22, 1922 on bridge at 277.7 at 5 mph.  It killed crane engineer Wm. S. Elliott and injured four other employees.  The crane was not in use when this happened as its boom supports are still in place in the photos. The locomotive that went down was #277 and crane #55.   Locomotive #620, a caboose and outfit car stayed on the track.   Much of the tender load of coal was dumped right into the locomotive cab. - Patrick Durand
