On an island in the middle of the Great Miami River was a large ammo can geocache called "Texas Size" (GC1GGPT). I needed a good challenge for my 5,000th find so on an 89 degree day in July we set out walking across the river. Although there was a current flowing, we made it across without faltering, I carrying provisions for the cache and Mrs. Amazing carrying Max (I hate the smell of a river soaked dog in my GeoMobile). The walk to the cache wasn't too bad, but we did get to feel the nasty sting of nettles. Mrs. Amazing was the first to spot the Texas Sized container. She's always been a better geocacher then yours truly. The trip back to the GeoMobile was uneventful though we really enjoyed nature's beautiful displays. We ended our hunt with a stop for burgers and ice cream. I dearly love this photo as my wife's face strikes me as absolutely charming and Max is unbelievably trusting of this situation.
