ARR 3017 provides a patch of blue to contrast the browns and yellows of the UP yard in Seattle as seen on a summer evening in August 1986. It looks like the 3017 is heading south in this picture.  It's mixed in with the freight cars instead of being accorded the VIP treatment locomotives in transit receive. The low level bridge in the background is Airport Way South.  On the hillside is I-5.  This picture was taken by stopping, in traffic, in the northbound lane of the 4th Avenue South bridge.
