Mike Gerenday adds, "Lately I've been going over some old photos of Palmer and this photo says Palmer to me. If you look at the mountains, even though it's not clear, you can see it's the Talkeetna Mountains. The road bed is not as profound as the main, and with line side details such as the telegraph lines, buildings, and crossing buck, they match other period photos of Palmer. The Palmer Depot is on the other side of the locomotive and boxcars. It could be a work train judging by the side dump cars and look to be switching the yard."
