Number 1002 is an Alco RSD-1.  It was built in 1943 (builder #70653) for the U.S. Army, #8038.  The Alaska Railroad purchased it in 1949 and rebuilt it in 1950.  It was later converted to ARR RF1B 1055 in 1950
