"This building houses our yard boiler (heat) plant on the railroad east side of the building. See the stacks. Hazmat operation is on the west side. That is Tommy Hughes’ truck in the photo. He was a boiler plant operator. Earlier it housed the blacksmith shop on the east side and Car Shop carpenter shop on the west side. The conversion took place in the early 1980s. It is the oldest RR building left in the ARRC Yard." - Allen Price |
