Pat Durand says of his photo, "The Wasilla Section Crew worked out of these buildings adjacent to the Alaska Railroad mainline about 450 feet south of the Wasilla Depot. The photo was taken from the shoulder of the Parks Highway in downtown Wasilla in 1998. All the buildings were gone by the spring of 2004 and a line relocation will likely see 143# rail laid right over this spot. All the structures were neatly maintained in the same colors the Alaska Railroad has used since 1946."
