Spoiled! That sums it up...I was very spoiled. A photo like this...just one...would make a railfan trip halfway around the globe, and thousands of dollars, and a week's vacation worth it. But for me this was just killing time on a random weekday afternoon. I had no chores and a bit of time so with word of a freight down on the south end I could head out and go grab all this in the span of a couple of hours and be back home! Yup this was what railfanning in the fall was like only three short years ago. Anyway, here is just a long 120N headed to Anchorage from Whittier heavy with freight off the AML barge up from Seattle. The two SD70MACs are wheeling around the gentle curve by the pond at MP 75.5 north of Girdwood with the glacier bedecked peaks of the Chugach Mountains rising beyond at the head of Girdwood Valley.
