Holiday Cheer In The Last Frontier The tradition continued in the Last Frontier with another holiday train on another year. The afternoon trip has made the scenic journey south from Anchorage along Turnagain Arm about 25 miles to Indian where the crew has paused to swap ends near the north end of the siding at MP 89 before starting back north. SD70MAC 4327 on the north end of the train looked really good this year with her festive holiday mood bedecked in twinkling lights, bows on her hand rails and a wreath on her nose. She's glowing warm in the 'blue hour' at about 3 PM on a cloudy afternoon contrasting with the icy waters of Turnagain Arm and the snowy peaks of the Chugach behind her. Indian, Alaska |
