Foggy Morning While I've mentioned often here how March was always my favorite month for shooting in Alaska for the many reasons I've enumerated, it wasn't always sunshine and snow. On a warm misty morning the ground is nearly bare as the regularly scheduled weekly Winter Aurora passenger train is only 28 miles into its 356 mile 12 hour run to Fairbanks. The pair of SD70MACs probably don't even notice the four cars on their drawbar as they pierce the fog approaching the signal at the north end of the 5531 feet controlled siding at the 50 mph track speed.
