Scenic Ship Creek
Another oldie taken right in town from the fabulous little Ship Creek bike path that cuts right through downtown and where I walked and rode more times than I could hope to remember.
Twin SD70MACs lead the 80 car empty QAP gravel train (150W) north just past downtown Anchorage at MP 115.1 on the ARR's Alaska Division mainline. This bucolic scene is right in the heart of the city where the railroad crosses the salmon laden Ship Creek. In just about 100 yards the train will leave the mainline and pull up on the gravel lead to tie down for the night and to await its 0800 call on Monday morning.
