Monday, 12 August 2024: Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) Fairbanks Yard Job heads Railroad South from Eielson Air Force Base seen here passing MP-G9 on the ARRC’s Eielson Branch. Recent brush cutting opened up this this shot of the crew as they pass one of many private crossing’s that line this section of track. In the lead are GP38-2’s 2007 and 2006 followed by the track geometry car and 17 empty coal hoppers from Eielson. Due to the geometry car being in the consist for today the crew wye’d their power at Eielson, a move that happens less then a handful of times each year.
