Sunday, 30 June 2024: Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) Coastal Classic passenger train races North along the shores of Turnagain Arm just outside the city of Anchorage. They are on their return trip from Seward the far South end of the railroad as they hit some golden light amidst the mostly cloudy day. Even though it was about 9:45 at night the sunset was still a few hours making it truly the land of the midnight sun. In the lead is SD70MAC 4328 the ARRC’s Centennial unit fallowed by GP40-2 3013 and 10 cars.
