Alaska Summers are the best. With sunsets after 11 PM through June and July it is the best time to catch the 5 nights a week Anchorage-Fairbanks freight. Access out of Anchorage is tough as once departing Anchorage the trains plunge right into Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson so unless you are military your first access point will be south of Birchwood. Wednesday’s freight was mostly pigs and a few tanks as seen here passing through Beach Lake Park at MP 133.09. Taken on July 15, 2020
