Muddy Matanuska Sometimes things don't go as planned. I had an idea for a photo of the AS&G Gravel train crossing the Matanuska River around MP 148. Things transpired against me right from the start and I got a late start leaving the house. The 40 mile drive was uneventful. I parked at my hike in location and I was half way in to my .75 mile hike when I heard the distinctive rumble of a train. I continued to walk and soon I got a glimpse of the train and knew I wouldn't make it. So a quick plan B resulted in this shot of the rear DP unit crossing the Matanuska River while Pioneer Peak, on the right, and Matanuska Peak, dead ahead, look on. Taken on September 11, 2020
