Photograph courtesy of Frank Keller Pristine Potter One can always tell the last northbound train off the barge as they will always have the Geeps. The first southbound will run with 2 or 3 Geeps which will be used to unload the barge. The 2nd barge train will have MACs and will be a turn, they will drop cars in Whittier and then bring the first northbound back to Anchorage. Finally the Geeps will be used to load the barge and bring the last train to town. Seen here just north of MP 100, on the right is Turnagain Arm where it meets Cook Inlet and on the left, first is the Seward Highway and then frozen Potter Marsh. In the background are the Chugach mountains. The black Geeps appear fairly consistently on the trains to Whittier.
