The images of Bear Valley were taken on 6/5/2013 and March 1986. Back in 1986 the only way in was to walk in while the lake was frozen. This location, on the slope of Mt. Maynard of the train and the Whittier Tunnel, is certainly one of my most favorite locations for any train picture I've ever taken. I continue to treasure the rare opportunities I had to spent on that cold, windswept hillside.
