Here's an image of train 27, extra 1802 working between Portage and Whittier in June of 1982. The fuel depot in the background looks like it's in operation in this photo. I don't think I ever had nicer weather in Whittier then I did on that day. I rode the train into Whittier then hiked up on the hillside to capture this image of the shuttle. The climb was steep and there was thick brush all the way up the hill. I'd still climb that hill for the right shot.
