The Alaska Railroad engine house at Healy was the junction point for the Suntrana Branch which went off into some very rich coal fields. June 8, 1968

Mike Gerenday commentary 8/14/20: There's a lot to see here. On the left we see Spreader #5, the big wedge gives it away. An old side dump, and an outside braced wooden boxcar. The locomotive is a GP7L, and since 1826 and 1839 were the only ones with the solid yellow nose, we can exclude those two. On the right we see an old troop sleeper/rebuilt boxcar with the original arched logo and the roof walk. The flat is unknown to me, and the caboose could be either 1022, 1023, 1024, 1025 or 1026. The structure on the far left was the sanding tower.
