Monday, 5 August 2024: Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) Fairbanks Yard Job cuts away from the one empty scrap car that the crew had just spotted on K&K Recycling's spur. This is just shy of MP-G10 on the ARRC's Eielson Branch as measured from Fairbanks Yard. The crew is on their return trip from Eielson Air Force Base where they traded their coal loads for empties before heading back Railroad South. Power on this beautiful Alaskan day was GP38-2's 2007 and 2008 both ex Conrail Exx Pen Central units that were built in 1986.
