For many years Princess was the sole cruise ship company docking in Whittier. Now Norwegian Cruise Line is teaming up with Huna Totem Corp. to develop a second docking facility in Whittier. Although there is no projected opening date, this link shows bookings will begin April 28, 2025. The new dock is expected to berth ships from all three of NCLH's brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The project will include a cruise ship terminal and facilities for rail and bus service.

The first ship arrives at the new dock at the Head of the Bay in Whittier on September 11, 2024
