In June 1986 Terry and I traveled to Alaska for two weeks of unforgettable adventure. We put 1,767 miles on our rental car. We visited Anchorage, Denali National Park, Valdez, Independence Mine, Hatcher Pass, Seward, Homer, Exit and Portage Glaciers, Kenai Fjords boat tour and....the Alaska Railroad.
Here is our Alaska Railroad trip journal including our side excursion to Denali National Park. Our trip journals during our early traveling years were simple and concise. When you click on one of the above photos, you will see these simple texts. As to the photos, our slides have faded over the years, but Canon slide scanning software tried its best to correct this issue.
Who would have thought this 1986 trip would eventually turn into a never-ending love with numerous repeated visits and lifelong friendships.
