Alaska Railroad caboose 1074 was built by the Pacific Car and Foundry in March of 1948 and put into service in April of 1949. The Alaska Railroad retired it around 2008. John Whitney purchased it and then donated it to the Alaska Central Railroad. Work has begun on the interior to turn it into a club car for club members. Current additions are a small kitchen and bunk beds. 7/17/23
